        Deus Ex is a role-playing video game genre which heavily depends on the players' decisions on how they want the game to conclude. Hence the above quote; players have the freedom to play the game they wish, and affect the game's environment based on the actions they make. Society will degrade based on players' greed, corruptive, and arrogant decisions. On the other hand, society will rise based on players' generous, sympathetic, and rightful decisions. However the players see fit, will determine the outcome of the game.

Who are the makers of Deus Ex?

        The former developers were Ion Storm for the first two games. The former publishers were Eidos Interactive for the first two games as well. The current developers are Eidos Montreal, located in Montreal, Canada. The publishers are Square Enix, located in Tokyo, Japan.

Is the company and its game successful in the market?

        The overall company has sold over ten million copies and has been highly praised for its gameplay. In fact, there are a total of four games in its franchise. The first being; Deus Ex, the second; Deus Ex: Invisible War, the third; Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and the fourth, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, is currently being developed. The first Deus Ex installment was rated by various video game reviewers as one of the greatest RPG games of all time. Furthermore, its soundtrack is highly praised for its soothing and catchy tunes.

How does the game impact society?

        It impacts society based on real-life situations. The game portrays human values and the action it affects on others. As the above quote mentions; there is always an inventor to a creation. In society, we work for the betterment of others, or at least make it seem that way. The invention of television made it easier for people to be informed on the outside world. The invention of mobile phones makes it easier for us to access real-time data about the outside world as well. In perspective, Deus Ex teaches its players that a cause and an effect is based on human morals.

Will there be anymore sequels in the future?

        Yes, in fact, another sequel; Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, will release on August 23, 2016. The game serves as the second timeline to the Deus Ex series, while serves as the fourth installment in the franchise.
